Green & Healthy Homes Initiative (R)
Greater Capital Region

Capital Region municipalities and nonprofit agencies are working together to serve low-income households living in unhealthy, unsafe, and energy inefficient housing.  Homes that do not meet basic health and safety standards cost families and taxpayers billions of dollars nationwide in preventable housing related healthcare costs for asthma, lead poisoning and injury and in turn lost productivity in the labor force and missed school days for children.

The Capital Region is working together to streamline programs and braid resources, allowing otherwise stalled home improvement projects to proceed, resulting in positive health outcomes for our neighbors most in need.
